Being a student at a liberal arts college means more than just taking required courses, but instead gives an upper hand in a variety of different topics and skills that some students may not have the privilege of learning about. Liberal arts colleges give each and every student an opportunity to become a more well-rounded student by allowing the students the chance to take courses about different subjects that are not always directly related to their major.
Being a liberal arts student has helped set myself apart from others in multiple ways. It has made me more aware of current events in topics that I normally would not be interested in. One of the most important things that it has helped me with is communication. The courses I have taken have educated me enough to talk with anyone, which has helped me greatly with networking. Overall, it has given me an advantage in “the real world” and entering the professional realm. As I previously discussed my liberal arts education has improved my communication skills immensely. This has served to be very beneficial regarding my major, marketing. Being able to have an educated conversation with anyone I meet helps lead to success in marketing because I can relate to different individuals. It also opens up different job opportunities in different industries that others may not think about going into because they do not have the knowledge on that topic.
